Wouldn’t it be nice to roll out of bed, slip on a robe and slippers and shuffle down the hall to your home office to work? Today over 137 million people world-wide do just that at least part time as more and more companies take advantage of the cost savings that telecommuting programs offer. One of the best places to find these companies is online, but you must beware. While more and more legitimate work-at-home jobs can be found online, so can scams.

Here’s what you need to know and do if you are looking for a real work-at-home job online.

1) Understand that you aren’t going to sign up to work at home. Telecommuting work is found in the same way that traditional work is found and usually involves an application or resume, and interview process.

2) You can’t pay to get hired. Any company that says you can work for it by sending some money is not offering a job. It’s okay to invest in a good work-at-home job database or hiring a professional resume writer, but you should never, ever, ever, pay to get hired. Let me add here that a legitimate company will never need to use your personal bank account to do business either. Never pay money nor use your bank in a work-at-home job.

3) Be open to many job types. Instead of thinking, “I want to sit home and type,” think about all the skills you have that can be used at home. Are you a good researcher? Do you have good phone skills? Are you highly organized? Are you creative? Can you write persuasively? Make a list of all your skills, experiences, talents and hobbies and search for jobs that need those attributes.

4) Learn to do a job that has a high demand for workers. There are certain job types that have many job openings right now such as copywriting, customer service, web and graphic design, medical transcription, writers, and more. If you can’t do any of these jobs, why not learn how? Most can be either self-taught or learned through an online or correspondence course.

5) Look for work where jobs are posted. Most people get in trouble because they look for the wrong types of jobs in the wrong places. Use job search sites not search engines to find work-at-home jobs. Visit reputable work-at-home websites (offer articles, tips and information beyond affiliate programs) to learn about working at home and also to get job leads.

6) Be professional. I can’t believe some of the email I receive from people who want to work at home who tell me they can type and yet their letters have typos and grammatical errors. Or they say they want to work at home, but provide no information on what they are qualified to do. You have one chance to convince a potential employer that you can do the job. The employer doesn’t care about your childcare hassles or illness. She only cares about finding the best person to do the job. All your interactions should focus on what you can do for the employer.

Today, the opportunities to get hired to work from home are endless and continue to grow. But if you are to get hired, its important to understand what work-at-home jobs are, why companies offer them, and how you can position yourself to get hired. Promoting an affiliate program has many advantages. You do not have to create a product. You also do not have to worry about customer service issues. All you do is promote the affiliate program and get a generous percentage of the product sales you generate. In other words it is a perfect opportunity to start your online career.

Two Affiliate Marketing Strategies You Should Follow

1. You can make a choice of thousands of programs as an affiliate marketer. However I firmly believe that the best promotion is based on your own experience. It is simple. Suppose you do not like fruit and you do not see any reason why you should eat it. Then how are you going to persuade your children that they need to eat fruit to get some vital nutrients?

Do not start to promote 15 programs at once. Start with one that you use yourself and that you love. Then you will be able to put some heart and soul in your advertising. Your potential customers will feel that and your sales will boost.

2. You must have your own website. You do not have any control over your affiliate site. So people will visit your site and you do not even know. Not very smart. You have seen these. It is a short page you create with the sole intention to capture the name and email address of your visitors. And then you are able to follow up with the other 95 and multiply your sales! What is even more important is that at the same time you are building your own opt in list! Do not underestimate the value of your list. For example twice a month you can send them an endorsement about a new product you promote. Once you have a responsive list you can make money by sending one email!

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need to Survive Online

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to increase your sales and survive in affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding of what the product can do for those who buy them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive and compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers attention in order to get them to read more, and even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never to return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they wanted, and later you will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dump those kind of contents into the junk before anyone gets to read them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that are focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above do not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end up maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers survive in.

Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…

Get Paid with Online Surveys

I don’t know about you but I’ve made money doing paid online surveys. It’s a great way to make a little extra money, but there’s a few things that they don’t tell you in the sales letter.

First off, get another email account that you don’t mind getting spammed. As soon as you sign up, you’ll get slammed with every offer under the sun. Then if you try to unsubscribe, you get put on another list where they sell you something else. Even with the Can Spam Act, they still do it. Many of these guys are overseas where American laws don’t apply.

Secondly, you’d better realize you’ll be spending a great deal of time doing paid surveys online. A typical Information Technology survey can go for over a half hour. Couple that with all the smaller things, you’ll have to do and you won’t get out from in front of the computer.

Thirdly, this won’t make you rich. They showcase a lady that makes 2000 dollars a month. Do I believe it? Yes, but that lady is not leading a very fulfilling life. She’s probably chained to her computer. I make about 100 dollars a month, extremely part time. Will you do the same? I have no idea so I won’t guarantee you’ll do the same. My job in information technology is why I keep getting higher dollar surveys.

Next, you must sign up for a bunch of different paid survey services. You can’t sign up for one service and expect to get anywhere. After a while you can decide which services are sending you survey’s you want to do and get rid of services that aren’t working out.

Many different company’s and industries need your unvarnished opinion on their produccts. Examples of industries that use paid online surveys are automotive manufacturers, IT consulting companies, airlines, supermarkets, and hotels. If you have a strong interest in one of these businesses when a survey is made available you will be contacted and asked to participate. You may even get to participate in a focus group.

In conclusion, paid online surveys are an easy way for just about anyone who spends time at the computer to make a little supplemental income. They are also a great way of making sure your opinion is heard and really knowing that someone is taking your suggestions into consideration. Who knows, maybe your suggestion or opinion will change a major product or service.

Medical Transcription at Home as an Employee

There is a lot on the internet about starting your own medical transcription business and that is a wonderful idea!  But did you know you can work from home as an employee just as if you worked in a hospital or doctor’s office?  You can move anywhere and take your job with you.

When starting a medical transcription business, you would need to contact doctors and hospitals to retain them as clients.  This is why being an employee is so attractive.  It is sometimes difficult to get your own clients if you live in smaller cities or rural areas.  There usually isn’t much employment at all in rural and smaller areas, let alone clinics or hospitals to find the work.  Many people have to commute a good distance to find work, which is costly, considering gas prices, clothing, meals, child care, etc.

If you are an experienced transcriptionist and generally have around one to two years experience, you could be hired by the many companies in the United States that will provide the work for you.  Many of these companies have health insurance, 401K, life insurance, paid time off, life insurance and other benefits.  You can also work part time, less than 40 hours a week and still get some benefits.

Another advantage is if you move anywhere you can take your job with you and that truly is a luxury.  Although the pay is somewhat less than it would be if you had your own business, you can make a good living from transcription at home with a company providing you the transcription work and avoid all the headaches of self employment taxes, paying for your own benefits, etc., that come with starting your own transcription business.

Working from home as an employee is a very good option, when starting your own business is not feasible because of your location and when the extra mounds of work of running a business comes into play.

You might manage to earn a few dollars using this method, but in the long term, you couldn’t possibly hope for long-term success. The deep secret is to use good links and banners related to your site.

Try to build your site with your readers in mind, and provide for what they will need and want.

In affiliate marketing, as in all other businesses, many people scrape by while others make a fortune. The difference lies in the strategies that they adopt, and in the intelligence they apply to their efforts.

You owe it to yourself to be included in the elite few. As long as you stay committed to excellence, making extra money online will not be difficult for you. Remember, you want to be a maker, not a scraper.

Writing articles with worthwhile informational content is an excellent strategy for successful marketing. Make sure that your article contains useful information that targets your audience and doesn’t sound like a sales copy or ad.

Studies have shown that banner ads are not the best strategy and that visitors actually avoid them. If you must use them make sure they’re used sparingly and well placed. Do not place a banner on the same page as your article. Placing a banner on the same page as your article can very quickly turn your well-written article into nothing but a huge ad.

One very important tip to remember is that as an affiliate it is not your job to sell. The only job you have is to pre-sell. Once you’ve done your job correctly and “get the click” then it’s the merchant’s job to close the deal.

Last but certainly not least, another important tip is to Know Your Product. If you know everything there is to know about it then it’s much easier to inform your readers of how it can work for them or why they should buy the product. So, therefore, if it’s in your budget you should buy it before you pre-sell it.
